Splatterworld: EverDrive N8 Pro Mapper Fix
A custom FPGA mapper that lets Namco's unreleased Famicom game run on the EverDrive N8 Pro.
About the Project
Splatterworld (Rick to Kyoufu no Daiou) is a 1993 Namco Famicom game that never shipped and survives as a prototype ROM. It runs on the Namco 175 mapper, iNES mapper 210. The fan English translation doubles the game's program ROM from 256K to 512K to fit the new text, and that breaks the game on the EverDrive N8 Pro. This project is a replacement mapper core for the N8 Pro's FPGA, written in SystemVerilog on top of Krikzz's open-source N8 Pro framework.

The mapper works with both the original and the translated ROM. It doesn't change the game, so you still need the ROM. To play in English, patch an unmodified Splatterworld - Rick to Kyoufu no Daiou (Japan) (Proto) ROM with the English translation patch.
The mapper needs N8 Pro OS v2.15 or newer. Copy the .rbf file into the same SD card folder as the ROM. Rename the mapper file to match the ROM filename, but keep the .rbf extension. For example, if your ROM is named splatterworld.nes, rename the mapper file to splatterworld.rbf.

Game Genie Codes
The bytes they patch are identical in the original Japanese ROM, so they should work there too.

- The max EXP code chains many level-ups after one fight (level 1 to 29 in testing), and you have to tap through each level-up message.
- The no-damage pair covers physical attacks only. Enemy spells weren't tested.
- Free shopping doesn't cover Paracelsus's cures, which use a separate price check.
