Analytics
To understand which pages people find useful, this site uses Matomo, an open-source analytics tool that I host on my own private server. Analytics data is not sent to Google or any other third party.
Matomo is configured to run without cookies. When you visit a page, it records:
- Your IP address, anonymized by removing the last two segments before it is stored
- The pages you view and the links you click
- The referring website, if any
- Your browser, operating system, device type, screen resolution, and language
- Your approximate location (country and region), derived from your anonymized IP address
This data is used only for aggregate visitor statistics. It is not used to identify you or to build a profile of you. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, your visit is not recorded.
Fonts and Third Parties
All fonts, images, and scripts are served from this site's own servers. Your browser does not connect to Google Fonts, content delivery networks, or any other third-party service while you browse. Links to external sites such as LinkedIn are only followed if you click them.
Server Logs and Email
Like most web servers, this site's server keeps standard access logs, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. These logs are not shared with anyone.
If you email me, I use your email address and message only to reply to you.
Retention and Your Rights
Raw analytics data is deleted after 180 days. Only aggregated reports, which contain no individual visit data, are kept longer.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you. To make a request or ask a question about this policy, email jay@equineform.com.
